Late Archaic, Native American Triangular Knife Fletched from Red Agate, Collected by a Family Member in Utah

A nice description of a Triangular Knife can be found on www.projectilepoints.net. The shape is described as ranging from thin medium to large triangular with a flattened cross section. The blade is commonly asymmetrical and bases ranges from slightly convex to straight. These points range in size from 30 to 90 mm in length and 18 to 41 mm wide. This point/knife can be found in the desert southwestern region of Arizona, New Mexico, as well as the Great Basin of Utah, Nevada, and California. These points date from the Late Archaic period.

The knife/point offered in this listing matches the physical characteristics described above. It is an asymmetrical triangular shape, approx. 45 mm in length and 32 mm wide. It was dug by a family member in southern Utah in the 1990's. What is very interesting about this knife/point is that it is fletched from agate. The edges are almost opaque in some areas. This very nice Triangular Knife/Point is showcased in a floating display box; the point can be easily removed from this box if desired.
